This 1.2 Million Dollar transportation enhancement project was funded through the America Reinvestment & Recovery Act (ARRA) Federally Funded Projects and the Transportation Enhancement (TPE) Funds. The project included the design of 1.5 miles of multi-use trail system for both bicyclist and pedestrians along a scenic corridor near Las Vegas, New Mexico. The design included special drainage and irrigation considerations and numerous safety enhancements. The project included extensive coordination with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and numerous public meetings to gather input from the public. The project also included environmental, cultural resource and biological resource clearances as well as Nationwide 404 permitting with the Corps of Engineers.
